Lily McKenzie featuring Giggs
WE SAY
Starting off with a beautiful, mournful piano line but rapidly building into a soulful UK garage vibe, this is the lead track from the noteworthy debut EP by Lily McKenzie. To date, she's worked with the likes of Wiley, Brackles and FaltyDL. Featuring rapper Giggs, this unsigned lady is currently writing, self-producing and recording more material and has a couple of gigs lined up in London in the next fortnight. The first is this coming Monday night (April 7) at Freedom on Wardour Street, then another at The Cuckoo Club on April 17. So far her music has had strong online support from key tastemakers at SBTV, Mixmag and Hype Machine alongside radio plays from 1Xtra, Kiss FM and Capital Xtra too. On this evidence, a bright future seems assured for Lily, we reckon.
