17-year-old South London rapper LeoStayTrill has had a phenomenal couple of months since the drop of this breakout hit. Co-written and co-produced from his bedroom at his parent’s home, the track exploded onto TikTok and has quickly seen it rise across the platform with two different clips, both having their own viral trend. Promoted by TikTok’s SoundOn’s in-house team, ‘Pink Lemonade’ has now been used in 1.25m videos, amassed over 30m views, and hit the top of their charts. Plus, Maya Jama, Dave, and Coi Leray have all used his sound on TikTok. All of this activity on the platform has led the track to claim a spot among Spotify’s Top 10 viral tracks worldwide and featured on their editorial playlists, including Spotify Viral Hits, Locker Room, and Who We Be. Further support has come from Capital Xtra, Apple Music (UK, Rap, The Agenda) and Amazon Music (+44 Rap, Hot Singles & Fresh Rap). Having clocked up over 250k Shazams and featured in Shazam’s UK, Global and US Top 200, ‘Pink Lemonade’ debuted at 56 in the UK Charts last week. With its free-flowing bars and addictive Afro drill beat, the track shows no signs of slowing down and gaining popularity globally for this young star-in-the-making. One to watch.
