WE SAY
Since we last featured Leon Of Athens eighteen months ago, we’ve played his wonderful featured track Global to so many people, and still remain baffled as to why it didn’t cut through. However, this latest song could be the one to bring him the attention he richly deserves. Leon’s based in London but frequently returns back to his native Greek capital to perform sold-out live shows on the city’s burgeoning indie scene. His co-headline gig at Dingwalls in London in May gained him a load of new fans here in the UK too. This single was conceived one starry summer night in a tiny village on Corfu and was inspired by the idea of a weightless world, where harmony and serenity reign. It’s lively, upbeat and charges along, leaving you with a warm glow and smile on your face in the process. With radio support from Gary Crowley at BBC London, Simon Raymonde at Amazing Radio and a great video (created by fashion filmmaker Marie Schuller), this superb track merits mainstream attention rather sharpish.
