If you need something to kickstart your Great Escape Festival this coming Thursday then we recommend you popping into The Hope And Ruin at 2.30pm to catch Dublin-based electronic indie-house-pop duo Le Boom. Formed in 2016 by Christy Leech and Aimie Mallon, the duo have since released three singles and have become one of the most sought-after new acts in the Irish music scene. Their energetic live sets and uplifting tunes have seen them perform in New York, Reykjavik, Cork, Belfast and of course Dublin, where they recently sold-out the 650 capacity Button Factory. This joyous and upbeat taster is their latest single, which perfectly captures the duo’s infectious energy with glass bottle beats, gorgeous falsetto vocals and vibrant electro-pop production. Their singles have so far generated over 850k streams (including additions on Spotify’s New Music Friday, Hot New Bands and Running UK editorial playlists), featured on Vodafone Ireland’s Summer Festival 2017 ad campaign, as well as Made In Chelsea and received plays on Irish and US radio. With further tastemaker support from Clash, Paste Magazine, Impose and the Irish Times, Le Boom will also be performing at Primavera Sound this summer and have been picked by both the PRS and IMRO to play live showcases for them.
