Green Garden
Laura Mvula
WE SAY
Starting with the release of her truly pulsating debut single in November and ending with a BBC Sound Of poll fourth placing and BRITs Critics’ Choice Award nomination, the tail end of 2012 were explosive for Laura Mvula. The hotly tipped Brummie now returns with the perfect follow up to She (RotD 25.10.12). Green Garden has it all; an interesting arrangement, production and another moment of brilliance from Laura's brooding vocal, which shows again her exceptional quality. Laura plays Eurosonic on Thursday before headlining Paradiso in Amsterdam on Friday. The next few months will be pivotal for many of those heavily tipped in end of year polls, but in Green Garden we think Laura has cemented herself as one of the voices of 2013.
