WE SAY
19-years-old soul artist Laura Izibor is a precious talent already making an impact outside her native city of Dublin. She recently signed to Atlantic US for records, as well as a publishing deal with Zomba. The release of debut album Let The Truth Be Told is scheduled for later this year. Advance copies requested of this accomplished-sounding track has led to specialist airplay on BBC 1Xtra and Galaxy FM, it has also received strong airplay on nationwide independent station Today FM in Ireland. The influences listed on her MySpace make a lot of sense, we hear some Lauryn Hill and a bit of Jill Scott in here too. Wonderful crossover soul. JF Musexpo Gig: April 30, The Viper Room (21:10)
