Lie

Lara Jones

Sound Records

WE SAY

Released yesterday (31 July), ‘Lie’ is the inspired new breakbeat-led electronic single from London-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Lara Jones. With its hook-heavy melodies, pulsating electronics and syncopated bass providing an energetic soundscape for her blend of vocoder and normal vocals, the track is an engaging affair with echoes of Daft Punk. Taken from her forthcoming EP, ‘Divided’, out in September, the song follows the single ‘Depressed RN’, which caught the attention of Diva magazine and plays from 6 Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs, Deb Grant and Tom Ravenscroft. Further tastemaker praise for her music has come from Radio 1’s Jess Iszatt, DJ Mag, Electronic Sound, The Wire and more. To support the release of her EP, she will play at Between The Lines Fest in London on 13 September.
