This gorgeous alt pop gem comes from Lanu aka Lance Ferguson of acclaimed Australian funk band The Bamboos and features vocals from ARIA Award-winning artist Megan Washington, who we featured back in November last year when she was unsigned (Washington has since signed to Mercury in the UK). Beautiful Trash, taken from Lanu's album Her 12 Faces, which is out in March on the Tru Thoughts label. The single has been played numerous times by Steve Lamacq on 6 Music in the last couple of weeks, as well as Nemone, Chris Hawkins and others. John Kennedy at XFM is also a fan and early reactions have been positive at Radio 2. iTunes and Starbucks in the US have given the track a boost with feature profiles, and in Australia it made the Triple J radio A-List. An eclectic treat with crossover potential. (Video)
