rush of love
Lala Hayden
WE SAY
Backed by a sparkling synth and dance-floor ready beat, ‘rush of love’ is the new single from British-Spanish artist Lala Hayden. If the name and vocal ring a bell then you may remember her as the frontwoman of indie-pop band Anteros, which we featured here in 2017. Having dropped her debut solo EP ‘Girl Becomes’ in 2023, Lala now revels in disco-tinged, dance-pop soundscapes with subtle ’80s hints shining through. Produced by Ben Christophers (Bat For Lashes, Françoise Hardy), ‘rush of love’ is an intoxicating dance-pop anthem about the dopamine high from falling in love. Drawing on a blend of Donna Summer, Robyn, and Kylie with echoes of Depeche Mode, the song is perfect for pop and dance-pop playlists at DSPs, as well as spins at Radio 1 and 6 Music. With key performances at Eurosonic, The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City and Beyond The Music last year, Lala is set to support Catty at Colours in Hoxton in May.
