Heavy Stone
Kyla La Grange
WE SAY
This anthem is Kyla La Grange's second single for Chess Club and will leave her nicely primed for 2012 (see My Band's Better Than Yours). Her press pack is already seriously impressive with features from the Evening Standard, Vogue, the Mirror, the front cover of the Guardian's Freshers Guide, and she features heavily in this piece from today's Guardian. Radio support has come from Rob da Bank and Huw Stephens at Radio 1, Jo Whiley and Steve Lamacq at Radio 2, XFM evening playlist, 6 Music and BBC London. She will have played a dozen festivals between the Great Escape and next Friday's Bestival appearance. Her last London gig at the Lexington sold out in advance; her next is at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on October 17th. Having already signed a publishing deal for Australasia with Native Tongue, competition is now heating up for the rest of the world and for records.
London Gig: October 13, Hoxton Bar & Kitchen N1
