High Hopes
Kodaline
WE SAY
Kodaline are riding a wave of runaway press and radio support which will no doubt gain further momentum in the lead up to tender single High Hopes. Their debut release - All I Want (RotD 09.10.12) - was a huge success, not only propelling them to a BBC Sound Of 2013 nomination, but synced as the soundtrack for the trailer, and in an episode of the latest series, of US hit TV show Grey's Anatomy. The Steve Russell directed video has had a fantastic 1.5 million views, going on to be selected by Google to soundtrack their '2012 Zeitgeist ad', which has had 13.5m views on YouTube since it launched a month ago. Further end of year tips from iTunes, Shazam and MTV, alongside radio support across Radio 1 - where on Tuesday they covered Disclosure's Latch on Live Lounge - Radio 2, Xfm, Absolute, and an NME No.1 on the Radio Chart all make for good reasons to feel post-festivity confidence in the run up to the release of this superb single. A February UK headline tour is preceded by debut US shows in LA at the Hotel Cafe (January 28) and New York's Mercury Lounge (January 31). Video.
