Leaping out of the playlist on Radio 1, 1Xtra and Choice, this re-release of T-Minus-produced fan favourite Swimming Pools (Drank) confirms Kendrick Lamar's reputation as one of the most distinctive voices in hip-hop right now. With the biggest-selling debut album in the US last year (Good Kid, m.A.A.d City) and a '#1 Hottest MC in the Game' accolade from MTV, it's no wonder the queues for his three appearances stretched around several blocks at SXSW last week, where those fortunate enough to get in were treated to a brand new remix of Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe featuring Jay-Z. Fresh from completing a sold-out UK tour, Lamar is set to reach a whole new audience this summer with appearances at T in the Park, Wireless and V festivals.
