Shimmering with elements of hyperpop, ’80s drum machines and ’00s pop sensibilities, ‘Kavichella’ is the latest release from artist, DJ and model Karvesh Pillai, aka Kavi. Having burst onto the scene in Australia with his debut EP, ‘Krushed!’, in 2022 with his fusion of clubby dancefloor meet pop songs about love and identity, Kavi caught the attention of tastemakers like Paper, Vice, Rolling Stone, MTV, Triple J and Spotify. Now based in London, Kavi released this energetic, glimmering dose of electronic pop earlier this week. With echoes of the free spirited electronica of Troye Sivan and the pop dappled sound of Cosmo’s Midnight, ‘Kavichella’ is Kavi’s calling card to the UK scene and beyond.
