This Mother's Heart
Katherine Jenkins
WE SAY
For this historic day celebrating the 90th birthday of our longest-reigning monarch ever (and showing that we truly do embrace all music from across many rich and varied genres), award-wining, platinum-selling Welsh mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins opens up the campaign to her latest album Celebration with this lead track, written for the Queen and her very special birthday in mind. As you’d expect, it’s a rather beautiful piano-led ballad that builds with a lush string arrangement and lyrics that will resonate with so many people. Katherine will be performing this next month, by request, at the Queen’s official birthday celebrations at Windsor Castle, and she also has live dates lined up this summer in her own right, including a huge London concert at the Royal Albert Hall on June 18. Exquisitely-produced and expertly sung by one of the biggest classical crossover artists in the world, a day like today means it’s right for us to break with tradition to present this to you. And it’s a song that’s likely to live on and be covered by countless other artists for many years to come.
