Kate Walsh is a 23 year-old singer-songwriter from Burnham, Essex. She releases her new album in late March on her own label through Shellshock/Pinnacle. The release will coincide with her SXSW appearance. With over 30,000 plays for Your Song, Kate is currently the no.1 unsigned acoustic artist on MySpace UK. Her sleepy, breathy voice and the subtle, lulling backdrop arrangements won us over. The chorus at times reminded us of a slowed down version of Billy Joel's She's Always A Woman, but this fits in more the Damien Rice-style slow-burning world of performance than anything else. She is available for licensing and publishing. JF
