Kartell & Barney Bones
WE SAY
Analogue synth textures combine with funk-tinged grooves and heady drums in this sublime new release from French producer Kartell. Featuring Barney Bones on vocals, who has collaborated with Tyler The Creator, Duckwrth, Kaytranada and Channel Tres, ‘No Escape’ is the third single from Kartell’s debut full-length album, ‘Everything is Here’. Early support has come from editorial playlist support at Spotify and Apple Music, but don’t be surprised to see this pick up more playlist support over the next week or so, along with spins at Radio 1, 1Xtra, and Capital Xtra. With over 40m Spotify streams to his name, Kartell has been building a loyal fanbase for his groovy blend of French-touched electronica with R&B and funk. His debut album will see him add alternative hip-hop and ’70s rock to his genre mix, alongside collaborations with Tkay Maizda and Kurtis Wells, and we can’t wait to hear it.
