With a slow, melancholy atmosphere, Test Dummy is the heart-wrenching ode from Las Vegas-based artist Kami Kehoe. Introduced to music by her parents, Kami has been playing the drums since she was just three years old. In her teens, she would perform in a band with siblings for several years, and now, she writes, produces and performs everything herself. On this, her second single, Kami fuses old and new to take you on a journey of heartache against a sparse and haunting backdrop, awash with acoustic guitar melodies, ethereal percussion and aching harmonies. There is a lot to love about this track, from the gorgeous vocals to the honest songwriting and lush instrumentation, Test Dummy has the lot. With a sound made for sync opportunities on American teen TV/film dramas and those alternative melancholic contextual playlists at DSPs, we reckon this won’t be the last time you hear this song and Kami Kehoe.
