‘Funny’ is the infectious new single from fast-rising charismatic alt-pop artist Kai Bosch. Having uprooted himself aged 17 from the sleepy town of Polzeath, Cornwall to the throbbing nightlife of Berlin before moving to London, his music is indebted to his adventurous nature. ‘Funny’, with its dirty riffs and alluring groove, perfectly illustrates this in his two-fingers up break-up anthem. Taken from his forthcoming EP, ‘Love, Throw Me A Bone’, the track was released last week and achieved early DSP support from Spotify UK (NMF) and Apple Music (15xNMD, New In Alternative, New In Indie), along with tastemaker praise from Clash, Dork, Far Out Mag, Earmilk and more. With its blend of mid-noughties nostalgia meets alt-pop goodness, we expect it won’t be long before we hear this on radio, especially since he has been championed by Jack Saunders, Sian Eleri and Jess Iszatt at Radio 1 previously. At the end of April, Kai will head off on a mini headline tour of the UK, including taking in The Social on 1 May. One to watch.
