WE SAY
Soulful, sensual and smooth vocally, yet feeling almost other-worldly at the same time, Canadian musician Justin Nozuka sits in a class all of his own right now. He's about to release his first album in four years, called Ulysees - this track from it is beautifully understated and minimalist, yet draws you in with every consecutive play. We're reminded of Mark Hollis from Talk Talk at his most free-form and experimental best, whilst there's even shades of Paul Buchanan from The Blue Nile in there too. Self-produced at his home studio, it's intense but somehow utterly relaxing. We're intrigued to see how it all sounds when he plays live on a string of European dates next month, including London's Borderline on April 7. This is pure blissful chillout.
