WE SAY
With its syncopated hand-clap rhythms and colourful Latin harmonies, Connection is the latest single from 25 year old Bedford-born artist and rapper James Watkinson, aka Junior. Parts pop, R&B and Thundercat style hip hop, Connection easily mesmerises with its woozy vibe, bass-driven grooves and soulful content. Drawing on 90s R&B, West Coast sounds and Jay Z, Junior has created his own sound that looks to America but with a home counties charm. GRM Daily are a fan, having supported his previous releases, while radio spins have come from Tom Ravenscroft on 6 Music, and Soccer AM has synced his tracks too. For fans of Mac Miller, Pharrell Williams and Frank Ocean.
