Busy Earnin'
Jungle
WE SAY
After signing to the mighty XL just a few short weeks ago, the buzz around Jungle continues to intensify. Little wonder when you hear this remarkable track. Last year, the enigmatic duo, known simply as J & T, burst into our consciousness with Platoon and The Heat, which helped them feature in the BBC Sound Of 2014 poll and saw NME make them one of their Bands To Watch. This feels like their instant mainstream breakthrough anthem. After Zane Lowe declared it his Hottest Record In The World a fortnight ago, other Radio 1 plays came from Nick Grimshaw, Fearne Cotton & Huw Stephens and tomorrow the station will feature it as their Track Of The Day, getting slots in every single daytime show, starting at breakfast. As a live act, the band grow to a seven-piece on stage. Last night they played a sold-out show at London's Village Underground and head to New York and LA for more of the same next week, before some hotly-anticipated SXSW gigs. UK festival crowds can experience what all the fuss is about this summer too, soon after their biggest headline show to date at London's Oval Space on May 23. Check out the brilliantly simple video too: a straightforward dance promo that's utterly engaging throughout and perfectly compliments the power of the song: a modern UK twist on uplifting 70s New York funk. It's only March but it's already one of our Singles Of 2014. Inspired.
