19-year-old singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist July 7 is a rising R&B star whose evocative and genre-hopping sound has already amassed over 2m combined streams, and seen him crafting beats for the likes of T.I, Young Thug, and Travis Scott. His latest release, Diamond Chandeliers is taken from the Mancunian’s debut EP, Sweets, and is an effortlessly smooth opener, blending silky vocals and cascades of synths against an 808 beat as the backdrop. Premiered by Complex online and DJ Target on 1Xtra, the track has since been played on Phil Taggart’s Radio 1 show, named Jamz Supanova’s #1 EP, added to Spotify’s UK’s New Music Friday, All New All Now, Rhythm & Baws, and Fresh Finds playlists. With a video to be dropped in the next few weeks, we are sure he will garner further tastemaker praise to go alongside Line of Best Fit, Highsnobiety, The Guardian, and Dummy among others who have already supported. Fresh, positive and utterly gorgeous, this is a seriously talented young artist and we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
