Peppermint

Julio Bashmore

Broadwalk

WE SAY

Growing up in Bristol, Julio Bashmore spent his teenage years absorbing the joys of club culture and dance music from the likes of Daft Punk and Cassius before deciding to immerse headlong into producing  and creating it himself. Peppermint is the first track from a forthcoming debut album later in the year and it sees him working again with one of his favourite collaborators, Jessie Ware. There's been early support for the tune from Zane and others at Radio 1, including In New Music We Trust, as well as 1Xtra plays plus Kiss and Capital Xtra. Online buzz has come from Pitchfork, Spin, Fact, NME, Mixmag, XLR8R, Stereogum and Digital Spy and to experience it all live, there's dates in Portsmouth and Southampton in March plus the Parklife Weekender in June. Minimalist, insidious and with a killer hook, this is retro-sounding house that takes the best influences from the past, yet with a vision of the future too.
