Joshua Thew
WE SAY
Joshua Thew is a London-based artist and songwriter. Born and raised in Hertfordshire, he moved to the US to dance for the New York City Ballet for a decade before a serious back injury ended his dancing career. Deciding to continue to work in the creative arts he focused on his other passion of music. Influenced by Joni Mitchell, Donny Hathaway and George Michael, Joshua has honed his music to create a soulful sound - full of rich, vulnerable and melancholic tones. His music has already caught the attention of the BBC, Spotify, Wonderland and Metal magazine. Last week, he dropped his Cale Hawkins (Raveena, Amber Mark, Arthur Moon) produced EP, ‘Endlessly’. This gorgeous track, backed by a simple piano melody, shows off his delicate and soulful vocal to beautiful effect and is a perfect introduction to his music. Next month, Joshua will perform at The Lower Third in London on 23 September.
