Fist In The Sky (feat. Jordan Mackampa)

Jords

Motown Records UK

WE SAY

Jam-packed full of soul, tinged with gospel, jazz and R&B, Fist In The Sky is the latest single from singer, songwriter, producer and rapper Jords. Having built a reputation for his idiosyncratic style of rap over previous releases and projects, the Croydon-hailing artist teams up with Jordan Mackampa to offer a rich and timeless vocal on this empowering number about “finding beauty in the struggle, strength in the vulnerability and power through the fight”. Taken from his forthcoming album project Dirt In The Diamond, out tomorrow (26 May), Jords has also dropped the accompanying video here - the final video instalment of his Dirt In The Diamond short film, directed by award-winning British-Nigerian director Renee Osubu. Championed by Radio 1 (Clara Amfo, Jack Saunders, Rickie, Melvin & Charlie), 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, and Reprezent, Jords has also been featured by tastemakers The Observer, Clash, Complex UK, GRM Daily, Notion, Trench, Independent, NME, GQ, MTV, Kiss, Colors and many more. Alongside his music, Jords has also co-founded Pickni Uniforms, which gives free school uniforms to children from low-income families, and launched a podcast series, Almost A Conversation, to encourage open conversation about mental health alongside guests such as Joy Crookes and Big Zuu. With his LP release tomorrow, the first rap album to be released on Motown UK, Jords is an artist delivering empowering and impactful messages to not just his community but to the masses too.
