Playing a sold out London show at St Pancras Old Church tonight (May 17) before heading down to Brighton for a gig at The Great Escape this Thursday, Jordan Mackampa is a musician who delivers timeless soul music with genuine passion, and it's precisely what our mixed-up world needs right now. This incredible song is the opener on his freshly released EP Tales From The Broken which came out on Monday. Hailing originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, he’s now based in Coventry and his music has been streamed more than four million times on Spotify. There’s been strong support from Julie Adenuga at Beats 1, along with plays at Radio 1, and online love from The Line Of Best Fit, Wonderland, The 405, NME, Clash and others. Upcoming summer festivals include Bushstock, BST in Hyde Park, 100 Above and Barn On The Farm, plus that 7:30pm TGE show tomorrow (May 18) in the perfect setting of Unitarian Church. With biographical lyrics that tell the stories of his worldly experiences, all combined that with lived-in, blues-drenched voice, the blend is damn-near peerless.
