WE SAY
As regular readers will know, we are massive admirers of east London artist JONES and her starkly modern, electronic soul infused pop sound. Every release has been an absolute gem and with over 90 million combined streams it seems we are not the only ones who think so. This gorgeous new track continues this fine form with its sumptuous electronic elements and strong, soulful, almost-confessional vocals. Released yesterday, Tender was mixed by Ben Baptie (Adele, Lady Gaga, London Grammer) and taken from her new London EP, which was recorded over a week with longtime collaborator Ollie Green. Inspired by her favourite cities, the EP is the first of three to be released this year by JONES that sees her returning to her signature sound with New York and Paris to follow in June and September respectively. Expect to hear this in Friday’s new release programming at streaming services, as well as any sensibly curated chilled R&B and soul playlists. It's another beautiful track to add to her impressive catalogue and with previous support from the likes of 1xtra, Radio 1, Radio 2, Later…With Jools Holland, Sunday Brunch, Nylon, Pigeons and Planes, Vogue and The Guardian among others, we are sure Tender will bring her many more fans.
