WE SAY
We brought you JONES twice in 2015 and noted "her time is rapidly approaching” when we featured her gorgeous track Hoops just before Christmas. That’s now been streamed more than five million times and she’s just announced that her much-anticipated debut album New Skin will be out October 7. The east London lass shows us here some of the delights we can expect - this is a sublime track, co-written and crisply produced to perfection by HONNE, enabling her soulful voice to shine. Premiered by Fader and at Radio 1 by longtime supporter Huw Stephens, the team at 1Xtra are also fans and remixes of Melt are due from Embody and Jay Prince. After a great reaction to her Later With Jools appearance on BBC2 last year, she’s now notched up over nine million Spotify plays and her sets at SXSW and The Great Escape have been deservedly well received. Next comes Blissfiields tomorrow (July 1) and Latitude on July 15. Sam Smith has already confessed he’s a huge fan of hers, now just watch everyone else to catch up. This deserves to be a worldwide mainstream smash all summer long.
