WE SAY
JONES was first featured by us back in the spring when we openly gushed about her sumptuous track Indulge. Social media went crazy for the song when she performed it on BBC TV's Later...with Jools Holland in October. Now though, here comes the equally-impressive follow-up and it’s another masterclass that demonstrates clearly why she’s currently one of the hottest stars who’s destined to shine brightly. Last week Spotify announced her as one of their 2016 Spotlight Artists, the video for the track has notched up over 150,000 plays in just a week and radio support for Hoops has already come from Radio 1 and 1Xtra presenters including Huw Stephens (who has already recorded a Maida Vale session with her), Phil Taggart, Mistajam, Target and Jamz Supernova. Watch that profile blow up even further in the coming weeks with a showcase slot at Eurosonic on January 15, a London ICA headline show on February 3 and a SXSW gig in Austin in March. Immaculate production, beautifully sung, JONES is about as good as new British talent gets right now. Her time is rapidly approaching.
