Teenager Jess Thristan has just released this single through her own record label and is already building a neat little plot behind it, including a recent warmly-received spot performing the song on Clare Balding's Sunday breakfast show on Radio 2. BBC Introducing have supported her and she's prepping her debut album for next spring, working on it with acclaimed pop songwriter Sara Eker, Nick Southwood (producer of the platinum-selling debut album by The Overtones) and Steve Chrisanthou, the Grammy-nominated producer of Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae. That 2006 classic is very much a welcome template for the instantly likeable sound that Jess creates here. Starting off as a dreamy acoustic guitar song, it grows beautifully towards a full gospel-tinged crescendo that should sound perfect across a multitude of TV and radio placements in the months ahead. Strong on melody and with unquestionable broad appeal, you'll yearn for the return of warm spring-like days again when you play this lovely track.
