Drawing comparisons to the intimate, poetic storytelling of Elliott Smith and Sufjan Stevens, the Louisiana-born and Nashville-based Americana-folk artist Jess Kerber has just dropped her enchanting single, ‘Next To You’. Anchored by hypnotic fingerpicked guitar and understated electronic programming, the track beautifully builds with Kerber’s soaring, honeyed vocals. It’s a lush and confident modern folk/Americana release, which is sure to turn heads. Stereogum, Earmilk and Where the Music Meets are already praising the single, adding to the online support for her debut single, ‘I’ll Wonder If I’ll Forget This’. It’s early days for Jess Kerber, but with her two releases so far we believe she has a bright future ahead.
