We first shared our admiration for Nigeria-born and Nottingham-raised rising pop artist Jerub back in 2023. His amalgamation of gospel, soul, R&B and pop showed that he had a knack for writing songs steeped in raw emotion and heartfelt sincerity, anchored by rich, soulful instrumentation. Since then, he has only solidified his place as one to watch. His latest EP ‘Carry The Load’ has helped him surpass 65m streams, earn continued support from BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop, and land on over 200 regional radio playlists. He’s also garnered praise from tastemakers like Wonderland, Notion, and Clash, along with major DSP backing from Apple Music and Deezer. Now, with his new single ‘Deeper’, Jerub delivers a stirring and beautifully crafted ode to “loving without conditions". Taken from his upcoming project with writer-producer Edd Holloway (Tom Grennan, Lewis Capaldi), the track is a soaring, soulful anthem that showcases his powerful vocals and emotional depth. Since the single's release last week, the track has been added to editorial playlists at Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music. Having supported JP Cooper, Rhodes and most recently Victor Ray on his tour of Australia, he will be performing two shows at next month’s Great Escape festival, so if you haven’t yet seen him play live, we wholeheartedly recommend. ‘Deeper’ is a gorgeous offering from a promising talent.
