Let the beauty of Janileigh Cohen’s voice wash gently over your ears. Her new single Sister is a delicately produced track with a wonderfully intimate, honest feel. This personal song, written for her sister to let her know that she’s always there for her, feels magically alive with Janileigh’s stunningly emotive tones. It sets the next stage for the Bolton singer songwriter, whose previous single, a cover of Blues Run The Game, featured on US hit TV show This Is Us and entered Spotify’s US Viral 50, generating over 120k streams. With previous tastemaker support from the likes of BBC Introducing, Folk Radio, Louder Than War and Sofar Sounds, Sister was premiered yesterday on The Line of Best Fit and we can see it being added to acoustic and relaxing playlists from Friday. Influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen, it’s rare to hear a track with such timeless quality.
