Emerging London-born singer-songwriter Jacob Browne has been busy since our last feature, the anthemic Upside Down, in January this year. He’s released a further five singles, amassed over 2m streams and clocked up an impressive 65,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Now back with his seventh single of the year, Like A Rose is the latest release written with and produced by Luke Potter at his Sweet Factory studio in Somerset. Taken from his forthcoming album, provisionally titled People Change (produced by Luke Potter), the track is an emotionally charged and atmospheric track that is expertly layered with rich, moody and lush production. It’s the kind of track you can imagine soundtracking a relationship scene from an American TV series or featuring happily alongside Imagine Dragons, X Ambassadors and AWOLNATION on a playlist. With a number of labels starting to take an interest in Jacob, he is planning some key showcase gigs in London for later this year, but in the meantime, check out his impressive back catalogue and this gem.
