WE SAY
Washington DC rapper J Holiday is having one of the fastest-rising hits of the autumn Stateside with this stylish slow-jam. Bed was written by The Dream (one of the writers of Rihanna's Umbrella) and was produced by Los Da Mystro (aka Carlos McKinney, whose credits include Chris Brown, Whitney Houston and Usher). Peaking so far at 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, it was number 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for three weeks in a row. The video is also on top rotation in the US on various MTV channels and BET. In the UK Kiss FM, Choice FM and BBC 1Xtra have playlisted this already and it's No 10 on the Shazam pre-release tag chart. It's edgy enough for urban radio and infectious enough to be a pop radio smash over here too. JF
