WE SAY
Stamped with an individuality and style of its own, this fusion of electro-pop vibes and hip-hop is the third single from BIMM Dublin graduate it’s just Cat. Born in a small town in Cork, the Dublin-based artist has already been making waves in Ireland with her earlier singles, Baby Blue and Slipping, having picked up support at Spotify (Fresh Finds UK, Out Now & Rainbow), Irish Radio and online blogs. Now back with Ache featuring Lauren Smith, Cat has produced a soulful and leftfield explosion of electronic goodness tinged with synth flourishes and heavy beats that hints at Cardi B, Childish Gambino and The Knife influences. Coming in at just under two minutes and 40 seconds, Ache is deserving of additions to forward-thinking electronic pop playlists, as well as spins on BBC 6 Music and Radio 1 evening shows. An exciting and confident release from an artist determined to do things her own way. Great stuff.
