We have been admirers of French act Hyphen Hyphen ever since we caught their energetic and spellbinding live set at the Great Escape Festival in 2016. The band, whose debut album Times went Gold in their native country, released their self-produced follow-up HH in France last year and are set to release it internationally later on in 2019. In the meantime, they have dropped this gloriously euphoric and chilled banger featuring the sublime vocals of multi-platinum American pop star Kiiara. With its simmering blend of hypnotic beats, addictive synth melodies and vocal hooks, the track was immediately added to twenty-eight Spotify New Music Friday playlists upon release and has since been playlisted on radio stations across France, Germany and Belgium. Perfect for new dance and mellow playlists as well as some deserved spins and playlist spots on UK radio, Lonely Baby is quite simply one hell of a tune. Having built a solid live reputation with over 500 shows, plus a Les Victoires de la Musique (French Grammy) award for Best New Live Act in 2016, the Nice-based trio will be playing a number of European dates over the next two months, including a show at Heaven in London on 5 June. A refreshing and anthemic number for all those of you who have had that strange lonely feeling whilst in a crowd.
