Who Are We To Love

HunBjørn

All We Are Music

WE SAY

Danish indie alt-pop artist HunBjørn has crafted something inherently beautiful and blissful in her latest release Who Are We To Love. Taken from her second EP Next Summer and produced by herself, the track takes you on a gorgeous journey through waves of dreamy synths and hypnotic melodies, all tightly woven together by minimal and ‘80s-esque electronic percussion. It’s a pure joy, with Ulla Pihl's (aka HunBjørn) digitised vocals soaring elegantly in this love song to the environment and reminder that the environment is the responsibility of all of us. This theme continues in the vivid and startlingly accompanying video, directed by Daniel Charluck Garrelts, where Ulla’s pregnant body, representing the earth and fertility, is marred by black oil showing the effect we have on the planet. Perfect for electronic chill and mellow contextual playlists, as well as specialist plays on UK radio, this is a must listen for any fan of the genre. Having built an engaged fanbase in Denmark with the release of her debut EP, In Vacuo, last September through social media, Danish blogs and her She Bear Messenger bot, HunBjørn is now looking to bring her music to the UK. A blissfully engaging alt-pop gem.
