WE SAY
We first wrote about Hozier last year and featured From Eden back in April, talking about the buzz that was rapidly building around him, predicting that the 23-year old from County Wicklow would soon be a platinum-selling star. Well, we caught him live at one of the two sold-out dates at London's Tabernacle shortly afterwards and were blown away by his presence and ability to utterly enthrall the crowd that evening. Make no mistake we're talking about a major global talent here. The debut album is almost upon us and on the evidence of our previously featured track as well as this wonderfully spiritual song (which has just been added to the Radio 1 'In New Music We Trust' list), it's set to be one of the most-eagerly anticipated of the year when it finally sees the light of day this autumn. UK festival dates at Latitude, Wilderness and Reading & Leeds are still to come this summer and his forthcoming gig at Koko on September 17, a few days before album release, sold out in less than 24 hours. Already he's graced both the Ellen and David Letterman shows in the US, where word-of-mouth and social media chat points towards a huge impact there too. This is an artist who connects with people on a very deep level. We've witnessed it first hand. The world is his for the taking.
