Hildur

AntiFragile Music

WE SAY

Rising Icelandic pop star Hildur is one talented artist. Not only is she a singer, but she is also a songwriter (top liner), lyricist and professionally trained classical cellist, who in 2017 won Pop Song of the Year (I’ll Walk With You) and was nominated for Newcomer of the Year at the Icelandic Music Awards. Released last week and taken from her forthcoming EP, Intuition, out in the summer, 1993 is a beautiful and uplifting nostalgia laden anthem about learning to trust oneself. It’s a gorgeous pop song with minimal production, full of melody and engaging lyrics. Premiered by the 405, the track has garnered praise from the likes of the Line of Best Fit, Scandipop and Wolf in a Suit among others to go alongside previous tastemaker support from NYLON, Consequence of Sound, Forbes, Under The Radar and Atwood Magazine. Hildur also uses her craft as a platform to spread a message of gender equality and positive role models, which can be seen in her #TrustYourself campaign. An endearing and confessional ode from an emerging Nordic star.
