Dare You
Hardwell feat. Matthew Koma
WE SAY
Like Kenya's long-distance runners, we're starting to wonder if the Netherlands' unbeatable track record for turning out world-class DJs originates in the gene pool. The Dutch monopoly on the winners' podium continues as progressive house titan Hardwell topples Armin Van Buuren as no. 1 DJ in the world according to DJ Mag's 2013 poll. New track Dare You piles on more world-beating stats with a Beatport no. 1 and has, courtesy of a Shazam premiere - the first of its kind apparently - attracted an unprecedented 17k tags in a 24-hour period. Premiered by Pete Tong, Dare You is playlisted more or less everywhere since its addition to Radio 1 last week, from MTV Dance to Capital Xtra, where Hardwell now has his own show, and has notched up over 2m plays across Soundcloud and YouTube. Currently in the middle of a worldwide tour, Hardwell's two Victoria Warehouse dates in Manchester next year are already sold out. And you thought the 'D' in EDM stood for dance.
