Gyptian's Hold You has had over 13 million views on YouTube and been something of a surprise breakout hit for the Jamaican. Hold You was a much-played and celebrated tune at this year's Notting Hill Carnival after making significant impact at radio in US earlier this year. Over here it has been championed on national radio by Zane Lowe, Trevor Nelson, Annie Mac, Mistajam and Nick Grimshaw (who had it as a Record Of The Week). Nominated for a MOBO for Best Reggae Artist, Gyptian was a headline act for BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Live event last weekend – the track has stuck firmly on 1Xtra's A-list this summer. Among the heavyweight remix line-up for the UK release are Major Lazer, Shy FX and Toddla T. Imran Ahmed's piece for The Guardian neatly explains the track's rise to prominence so far.
