Australian artist grentperez has already built up a loyal fanbase online with his Sing U To Sleep series on YouTube. The series, which sees the young star put his own spin on some of his favourite tracks by other artists, quickly racked up millions of streams and helped him grow his channel to over half a million subscribers. During the early part of the pandemic, grentperez invested a lot of time in songwriting and developing his bedroom-pop sound. He started to release his own music last year, and since then, has amassed over 40m streams, topped viral charts and featured on streaming playlists at Spotify and Amazon Music. Along the way, he has picked up praise from DIY, Notion, The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland and NPR, as well as radio spins from Triple J, NPR and KCRW. Last week, he released his debut EP Conversations With The Moon that featured this beautiful, breezy and melodic ode. With a sound that is instantly comforting, infectious and laidback, grentperez could become the next big Gen Z star to come out of Australia.
