Be prepared for an intoxicating sensory experience of the highest calibre, as we introduce you to Norwegian daze poppers Great News. Based in Bergen, the band consisting of Even Kjelby (guitar, vocals), Kim Åge Furuhaug (drummer) and Ole Kristian Einarsen (bass) have produced one hell of a fuzzed-out tropical track in Never Get My Love. It’s a heady mix of baggy, ‘80s chromatic guitars and contemporary psyche music that will appeal to any Stone Roses and Tame Impala fans. Taken from their forthcoming debut album, Wonderfault, to be released in February next year, the band have garnered some serious tastemaker support from the likes of Q, The Line of Best Fit, DIY, Clash Magazine and Matt Wilkinson at Beats1. After their storming live set at Bergen’s Vill Vill Vest festival earlier this autumn, Great News have just recently signed up with live agents, CODA and have announced that they will be performing at Eurosonic on 19 January. We recommend you check them out if you are attending and if not then, they will be playing the Shacklewell Arms in London on 25 January, or you can watch their live video of Never Get My Love.
