GRANT
WE SAY
If you are attending Eurosonic over the next few days, we thoroughly recommend you checking out Swedish singer-songwriter GRANT tonight (17 January) at Stadsschouwburg (10.50pm). The 24 year old made a name for herself with the release of this captivating and honest ode about battling and overcoming depression. She performed the track live at last year's Swedish Grammy Awards to critical acclaim and has since released her mesmerising debut album, In Bloom. Produced mainly by Peter Kvint (with additional production by Johan T Karlsson), the album is a gorgeous collection of intimate and sumptuously textured alt-pop gems. Her singles, including the upbeat and joyous Catcher In The Rye and the downtempo and jazzy Wicked, have been A-Listed on P3 (Sweden's national radio) and have helped her amass over 8m combined Spotify streams, as well as garner international tastemaker support from the likes of the Line of Best Fit, Notion, Billboard and Idolator without ever having been promoted outside of Sweden. Last month, she finished touring with Tove Styrke across Scandinavia and celebrated the tour with a gloriously stripped back and vulnerable rework of Tove's Changed My Mind. Currently one of the most buzzed about Swedish acts, with nominations for a Swedish Grammy and two P3 Gold Awards, GRANT is an extremely talented songwriter who is able to transport the listener into her own personal universe and has everything to become a rising global star in 2019.
