WE SAY
Gotye (pronounced gore-ti-yeah) is a 26 year-old Belgian born, Melbourne-based singer songwriter called Wally De Backer. Growing in popularity in his own territory, Hearts A Mess was at No 8 in Triple J's Hottest 100 countdown, and his self-released album Like Drawing Blood has been voted Triple J's listeners favourite of the year. He recently won the 2007 ARIA award for Best Male Artist in Australia. Now signed to Lucky Number for Europe, who are currently finalising a strong team, this poignant song is planned for release as his debut single over here in spring 2008. It's accompanied by one of the most astonishing and beautiful animated videos we've seen in a long time. JF
