Consistency

Ginius

unsigned

WE SAY

Let us introduce you to British Ghanaian singer-songwriter and music producer ginius. She’s been carving a niche for herself within the West African diaspora in the UK and in her home country Ghana with her self-produced blend of Amapiano, Alte, Highlife and R&B. At the end of last month she dropped her latest release, Her Notions Since ’97, a vibrant collection of Afro-fusion numbers. On release, she was the playlist cover star of Spotify’s Equal Afro playlist, added to Spotify’s Fresh Finds Africa editorial playlist and was Apple Music Africa homepage hero (featuring on Africa Rising, Alte Cruise & Motherland Honey). With its jazz-tinged Afrobeats vibe, Consistency was premiered on Radio 1 over Notting Hill carnival weekend as a new discovery on Victoria Jane’s Future Soul show, and has since received support from Reprezent Radio, BEAT FM Lagos and Y FM Ghana. Further tastemaker support for ginius has come from Amazon Music, Boomplay, Native Magazine and Amaka magazine. Next month, she will be opening for Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur at his Koko show on 21 October, which would be the perfect opportunity to see this future star live. One to watch.
