Friend Crush is an ice cool alt smash, combining the distinctive alluring vocal of Samantha Urbani with the band's unforgettable psych-pop melodies, the chemistry making for an incredible track. The Brooklyn quintet have had a phenomenal year, starting with a limited 7” release of Friend Crush, followed by a smattering of UK dates, with their London shows becoming one of the most in demand tickets of the year. Friends' first single was I’m His Girl, which was highlighted as The Line Of Best Fit’s and Fake DIY’s No 1 track of the year. It was also A listed on 6Music and picked up plays on Radio 1, including strong support from Huw Stephens who has invited the band in to record a Radio 1 session. Their year ends with the band being nominated as the only independent artist on the BBC ‘Sound Of’ poll, selected as one of Q's 'Faces of 2012' as well as one of Amazing Radio's '12 for 12'. Their forthcoming London show sold out within days and the second looks sure to follow. Video.
