Indiscriminate Act Of Kindness
Foy Vance
WE SAY
Freshwater Hughes managed Joss Stone until recently (the split was apparently amicable - she came to the end of her contract and is now managed out of the US). Belfast-based soulful singer/songwriter Foy Vance is their second artist signing. When we first heard Indiscriminate Act Of Kindness, we thought it might be a cover, perhaps of early Dire Straits (high praise indeed). But no - it's an original and excellent song from a writer who also has two co-writes on the Beulah album. Really nice feel to the recording too, with elements of Astral Weeks and gospel and a great lead vocal. We look forward to hearing more. He has several interesting dates coming up in August including London's Ronnie Scott's on August 7.
