Jaunty, uplifting and utterly cool, this is modern pop with retro sensibilities from Flyte. The London-based quartet draw on that tantalisingly-rhythmic funky guitar groove that permeated so many great hits from art-house, post-punk 80's bands like Talking Heads and Orange Juice. It's all self-produced too - their debut album is currently in the works and the buzz around the band's live shows continues to grow after supporting Bombay Bicycle Club. This week they're playing the DIY Presents 2014 UK tour, arriving in London on Saturday (November 1) for the all-dayer at Hackney venue The Laundry before headlining their own date at Oslo on November 4. Social media and tastemaker press is hot for the lads - the song has already been streamed over 100,000 times and radio play continues to build with Zane and Huw Stephens at Radio 1, Jo Whiley at Radio 2 and John Kennedy at Xfm already showing love for them. Solid lyrically and boasting a cracking melody that'll stick with you for days, this is damn-near perfect.
